Chicago, IL, USA, April 9, 2013 — CargoWise®, a global leader in technology solutions for logistics service providers (LSPs), congratulates Diego Hernandez for achieving the highest mark among this year’s graduates of the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA)'s Education Institute Certified Customs Specialists (CCS) course.
Designed to assist trade professionals involved in this vitally import industry to become experts in current import regulations, the course reviews the fundamental points relevant to the importation process while delving into practical, relevant subject matter not generally tested on the formal customs licensing exam.
Originally from El Salvador, Hernandez has lived in the San Francisco Bay area for the last 15 years. He began working part-time as a customer service agent for the airline industry while studying to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business, and was promoted to the position of Operations Supervisor upon completing his degree. He went on to obtain a Customs Broker license, and to complete the Certified Customs Specialists course offered through the NCBFAA’s Education Institute.
“It is a great honor to be recognized by the NCBFAA for being the student with the highest score in the CCS training program because it validates the passion I feel for my profession,” Hernandez says. “It’s also a great recognition of my commitment to keep growing through professional learning and development.”
Presented at the NCBFAA annual conference, the award includes attendance at the conference, an opportunity that Hernandez says he will use to network with others in the industry, and learn about the sector by attending the different seminars offered.
Expressing her delight at again having the opportunity to attend the conference and present the award, Lisa Tree, CargoWise Marketing Manager, said such courses were fundamental to ensure high levels of innovation and professionalism in a rapidly evolving sector such as freight forwarding.
“It’s my pleasure to publicly congratulate Diego on his achievement and thank the NCBFAA for its provision of the CCS course, as it ensures that the talented individuals recruited into this fast moving sector are able to maintain a high level of innovation and professionalism,” Tree says. “This partnership with NCBFAA has been so successful that we are actively looking for the opportunity to support other similar courses and awards around the world.”
