Chicago, USA, October 30, 2012 — CargoWise®, a global leader in technology solutions for logistics service providers (LSPs), announced that CMA CGM Logistics, a division of steamship carrier CMA CGM, has selected a hosted version of ediEnterprise from CargoWise to support its U.S. operations.
CMA CGM Logistics Managing Director Simon Preisler says ediEnterprise was selected after a comprehensive product review process that included evaluating software from major logistic software providers. Ultimately he says, the ediEnterprise operating system from CargoWise was adopted because its flexible and cost-effective platform has the capacity to support business growth at both a local and global level.
“We are using the hosted version because it’s easy to add extra users locally and globally,” says Preisler. “Once ediEnterprise establishes itself functionally and cost wise in our U.S office, we will evaluate rolling it out to our global operations across more than 20 countries.”
The capability to combine local functionality, global reach and flexibility delivered on a single centralized database will provide CMA CGM Logistics with the capacity to focus on global expansion along with the acquisition of the most talented logistics personnel available in order to support further plans for growth.
“CMA CGM Logistics immediate objective is to implement the best of class enterprise level solution in the U.S. to jump start its operations in the Americas and allow the company to scale and grow through a single platform system,” says Gene Gander, Vice President, Business Development Americas for CargoWise. “Implementing the ideal system from day one is the foundation of any successful business operation. We look forward to assisting CMA CGM to grow its U.S. business and leverage the optimal value CargoWise’s ediEnterprise has to offer a global company – a single global enterprise solution from origin to destination.”
