Chicago, US, May 30, 2013 — CargoWise®, a global leader in technology solutions for logistics service providers (LSPs), announced the successful adoption of ediEnterprise delivered through WiseCloud by leading Peruvian freight forwarding and logistics experts of International Freight Shipping S.A.C., part of the IFS Group.
With more than 5,000 international partners globally, and more than 1,000 active local customers, International Freight Shipping identified the need for an IT system that could centralize its processes and manage data across a single global network. The company was also looking to enhance its services, get greater insight into shipment status and progress, boost productivity and provide customers with increased visibility.
“After careful analysis of all available global freight forwarding systems we opted for ediEnterprise, through WiseCloud, because it provided all our staff the opportunity to share information across different departments within the company and work in the same way in all our offices no matter where they are based,” says International Freight Shipping Executive President Reynir Gislason.
Having experienced significant frustrations with the limitations of the system it had been using previously, International Freight Shipping ultimately chose ediEnterprise because of its capacity to improve communication with agents, and streamline internal processes on a single, centralised, global, database via an easy-to-use interface.
“CargoWise already has a very large network of logistics companies around the world using ediEnterprise; thus it adds tremendous value to our business because it enables us to interact with these clients all over the world with the same IT platform,” says Gislason.
Gene Gander, Vice President Business Development, Americas for CargoWise, says he is delighted that ediEnterprise through WiseCloud has the capacity to deliver on a number of International Freight Shipping’s strategic goals.
“ediEnterprise already operates in nearly 100 countries, and its functionality is proving very popular in this rapidly expanding region,” says Gander. “It is important for us to localize in a fast growing market and fundamentally important market such as Latin America to help to streamline the already strong links it has with the rest of the world.”
