Milton Keynes, UK, January 31, 2013 — CargoWise®, a global leader in technology solutions for logistics service providers (LSPs), announced that Netherlands-based full service logistics provider VBE Group has adopted ediEnterprise to run its ocean freight, airfreight, warehousing, transport and customs operations following a competitive tender process.
Founded in 1974, and headquarted in Rotterdam, in The Netherlands, the VBE Group consists of a full service freight forwarding business, BTS Logistics B.V.; a domestic transport operation, Van Bebberen Transport B.V.; and a consolidation division, NVO Consolidation B.V. All three companies went live on the ediEnterprise platform on January 1, 2013, following a series of on-site and remote training sessions, aimed at ensuring that the company’s 47 staff members were fully prepared to use the software to improve communications and boost productivity.
“ediEnterprise, from CargoWise, offers a fully-integrated solution that covers all of our divisions and also integrates CRM, sales, marketing and accounting data,” says VBE Group Managing Director Michael de Rouw. “We are now able to use a single software platform for all of our companies and departments, and offer our customers track & trace, online scheduling & bookings services through the ediWebTracker application. This lets us compete with the big global forwarders and logistics companies.”
CargoWise Vice President Business Development for Europe, Simon Clark, says the ediEnterprise platform, which is compliant with Dutch customs, provides VBE Group with the capacity to provide more comprehensive services to existing customers and to expand into new markets.
“VBE Group already has all the different aspects of freight covered, and now they have the technology to effectively deliver their services to a global market using automated online features like web alerts, track and trace, scheduling and bookings,” Clark says. “It’s refreshing to deal with such a straight talking, results-focussed company. Operating on a single system provides them the capacity and opportunity to bring more clients on board.”
