Chicago, US, May 21, 2013 — CargoWise®, a global leader in technology solutions for logistics service providers (LSPs), announced a successful 12 months of expansion in the Americas that has seen revenues grow by 34 percent, and the number of users expand by 47 percent, despite challenging economic conditions.

According to Gene Gander, Vice President Business Development – Americas for CargoWise, expenditure on ERP systems which were postponed in the first half of the year are now being realized, and existing customers are increasingly adopting new modules within the ediEnterprise system. As a result, CargoWise has seen healthy growth in overall revenue in the Americas.

“This has been an exceptional start to the year, as customers are finally executing on initiatives they might previously have postponed to the second quarter,” Gander says. “We are seeing the increase in IT spending, which reflects the growth that is being seen across the entire economy. This recovery is particularly notable in the logistics industry, and we are rolling out a series of initiatives such as WiseCloud and eLearning, in order to harness this momentum.”

Among the significant deals to be announced in the last 12 months were the adoption of ediEnterprise by CMA CGM Logistics to support the expansion of its US operations; RIM Logistics adopting ediEnterprise delivered through WiseCloud to support rapid growth; and the adoption of ediEnterprise by Mexican-based Evolucion Logistics to support its entire North American operation. CargoWise also forged strong links with the IFLN Network, which represents more than 200 specialist freight companies in 85 countries from its headquarters in Texas.

According to Gander, much of the growth in the last 12 months can be attributed to investment in the development of eLearning and the ability for customers to adopt ediEnterprise delivered through WiseCloud which significantly reduces both the initial implementation, and ongoing operational costs of the software. There has also been a significant increase in demand for ediEnterprise software in both the Canadian and South American markets thanks to a stable Spanish language module and a new interface with Canadian customs.

“We have been serving South America via our global customers for years; however in the past two years we have made a concerted effort to Miami and related South American markets, and are having a lot of success in this geography,” says Gander. “The Canadian market is also generating increasing sales as the customs module proves successful. The Americas region extends well beyond the US borders, and the success in Canada and Latin America made for an impressive first quarter for the region as whole.”
