Milton Keynes, UK, May 28, 2013 — CargoWise®, a global leader in technology solutions for logistics service providers (LSPs), announced a successful 12 months of expansion in the EMEA, that has seen revenue growth of 29 percent, and the number of users expand by 78 percent, despite on-going economic concerns in region.

According to Simon Clark, CargoWise Vice President Business Development for Europe, revenue and customer growth has been strong due to ediEnterprise delivered through WiseCloud, combined with web-based eLearning, WiseCloud offers a low-risk, flexible approach to acquiring software. As a result, EMEA customers have been able to boost productivity while controlling costs, enabling them to adapt to rapidly-changing economic conditions.

“Although Europe continues to face significant economic uncertainty, our clients are seizing the opportunity to benefit from an on-demand solution that doesn’t require capital investment,” says Clark. “Our clients are also taking advantage of eLearning, which makes it possible for all key staff to train on the new software without having to remove themselves from the business for extended periods. This provides an easy-to-access library of training resources available around the clock.”

Cloud-based software and eLearning is resonating with customers ranging from small boutique freight forwarders such as Dublin-based boutique air-freight specialists, Central Shipping, to large logistics companies with a global presence such as US-based Lynden, which has adopted ediEnterprise through WiseCloud in its new Belgium office. The last 12 months has also seen the rollout of ediEnterprise across the global operations of Geodis Wilson, where the software formed a central component of a €20M software transformation project, which paid for itself within a year through improved productivity.

“Logistics providers in the European region face significant challenges due to the ongoing recession and fierce competition. However, the combination of flexibility and affordability of CargoWise’s software offerings ensures our customers are confident of their capacity to withstand the challenges, and improve their performance,” says Clark. “Our delivery model makes it possible for our customers to adopt new software without incurring large upfront charges, lets them convert IT capital costs into operational expenses, and respond to rapid changes in their marketplace.”
