
About Korea Maritime & Ocean University
The RIS Smart Port Logistics Project Group (RIS-SPL) is an organisation that conducts national research and develop projects at National Korea Maritime & Ocean University as well a regional innovation organization of Busan Metropolitan City.
RIS-SPL actively promoting various projects in the region of talent training, technological innovation, and corporate support to establish a regional innovation system through cooperation between local governments, regional innovation institutions, and universities and to innovate in the smart port logistics sector in line with regional mid- to long-term development goals.
In addition, RIS-SPL has established and operated a convergence major (smart port logistics major, smart international logistics major), a nanodegree course (logistics control, smart logistics, logistics practice), and a graduate in convergence major (smart port logistics convergence major) through the BITS Busan shared University which is shared university system in Busan Metropolitan City.
Through these activities RIS-SPL has building a virtuous cycle ecosystem that can cultivate self-sustaining innovation capabilities in the region, such as fostering excellent talents in the smart port logistics sector, employment and start-up, and supporting local settlements.
