Chicago, USA, June 18, 2013 — CargoWise®, a global leader in technology solutions for logistics service providers, announced the successful adoption of ediEnterprise delivered through WiseCloud by newly-formed Canadian freight forwarder Skyfer Logistic. Comprehensive training completed entirely through web-based eLearning videos and manuals was a key contributor to Skyfer’s quick implementation.
Following a successful career in the freight forwarding and logistics industry, Sherman Fernando launched Skyfer Logistic in late 2012 with the vision of creating an agile, rapidly-growing, competitor to existing companies in the sector. After researching the logistics software market, he selected CargoWise ediEnterprise because it was the best fit for Skyfer Logistic’s agile business culture and aggressive growth plans.
“The ability to conduct training using eLearning exclusively also made a major impact on the decision to go with ediEnterprise. It is easy and flexible and I can just log in and use it whenever I want to learn something new,” Fernando says. “It was also going to cost me a lot of money to set up an internal server, which I would then have to keep updating every three years, so ediEnterprise delivered through WiseCloud was the most logical choice.”
ediEnteprise is currently being used by four Skyfer Logistic staffs, with plans to expand the number of users to 15, keeping in-line with the business’ rapid expansion forecasts. According to Fernando, the software provides key features which have enabled the company to surpass existing freight forwarders in terms of customer service and productivity.
“The software supports my efforts to offer my customers the opportunity to look up rates, track shipments, and complete their bookings online,” Fernando says. “This means we are already achieving far more productivity than our competitors, and this helps make our customers more productive as well.”
Gene Gander, Vice President Business Development, Americas for CargoWise, says he is delighted to be able to deliver on the highly sophisticated requirements of Skyfer Logistics, which provides the company with a technology platform that enables it to launch and expand quickly.
“Our WiseLearning eLearning platform makes it possible for the Skyfer Logistic team to feel confident of being able to get access to training when and where it suits them,” Gander says. “Sherman Fernando was specifically looking for a product which would respond not only to the needs of Skyfer Logistic in its start-up phase, but would also meet the company’s demands as it grows.”
