WiseTech Global customers benefit from industry-leading development to meet NZCS requirements.
Sydney, Australia, February 3, 2016. WiseTech Global has announced that its industry leading, single platform solution, CargoWise One, is fully compliant with requirements for the New Zealand Customs Service (NZCS) and Ministry for Primary Industries’ (MPI) Trade Single Window (TSW) WCO3 reporting initiative.
Lodging of the four Customs and MPI messages currently available in the TSW WCO3 format will become mandatory by November of 2016. Early adopting CargoWise One users are already sending over 1500 TSW WCO3 formatted messages each month with steady growth. The reported benefits of the new WCO3 TSW messaging are:
- Streamlined processing with Combined Customs and MPI clearance
- Detailed status information and improved agency responses, Including MPI Food, MPI Bio and NZCS
- The ability to attach supporting documentation
- Faster clearances
Debbie Whiteside, Manager Business Engagement & Change for NZCS Information Systems, comments that “The richer information supplied in the new TSW WCO3 messages provides NZCS and MPI the ability to better understand the risk posed by a shipment. Better risk assessment reduces agency intervention for low risk goods, and allows the agencies to provide early advice of clearance requirements.”
NZCS plans an industry-wide release of Inward Cargo Report, International Transshipment Request, and Domestic Transshipment Request functionality in TSW during 2016. An initial pilot partner since 2012, WiseTech Global is committed to continue working closely with the NZCS and MPI as new functionality is released to ensure CargoWise One is ready to meet all new reporting requirements as they come into effect.
“New Zealand’s Trade Single Window initiative brings significant benefits to the industry,” says Brett Wilton, Business Development Executive New Zealand for WiseTech Global. “With the November 2016 deadline fast approaching, now is the time for logistics providers to evaluate their technology platform and implement new systems to ensure a seamless transition to TSW.”
Companies wanting to submit WCO3 formatted messages are required to complete TSW Registration (Form 225) prior to filing. By registering with NZCS and filing TSW messages now, companies can avoid risks of non-compliance when the mandatory deadline is reached in November.
