Milton Keynes, UK, January 24, 2013 — CargoWise®, a global leader in technology solutions for logistics service providers (LSPs), is delighted to have been part of the British International Freight Association (BIFA) Freight Service Awards 2012, held this week at The Brewery in London.

Now in its 24th year, the award ceremony celebrates professionalism across all sectors of the freight forwarding and logistics industry and this year was hosted by former Olympian and World Champion track star Derek Redmond.

CargoWise customers were featured prominently amongst the finalists in a range of categories. World Transport Agency was nominated for the Environment Award, Atlantic Pacific Global Logistics was recognized in the Project Forwarding category, 512 Ltd was a finalist for Staff Development and Geodis Wilson UK was amongst the finalists for the Air Freight award.

Simon Clark, CargoWise Vice President Business Development for Europe, had the privilege of presenting the Ocean Freight Award to Allport Cargo Services, a global logistics specialist headquartered in London, in recognition of its commitment to improving data access through the company’s Extended Visibility project.

“By reducing delays through managing congestion via the global network, they not only succeeded in reducing costs but also achieved greatly improved customer satisfaction,” the judges said.

Clark said that he was delighted to see Allport Cargo Services recognized for the project, as it demonstrated the role clear visibility plays in streamlining operations, reducing delays and combating operational congestion.

“It is also marvelous to see so many CargoWise customers recognized for their hard work and innovation, and we are proud to play a part in encouraging this culture of innovation through the BIFA Freight Service Awards,” Clark said.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of a Lifetime Achievement Award to long-serving industry personality Jimmie James, who was recognized for his stewardship of the London Freight Club and commitment to charity.
